Install the app, enable the Safari extension on Mac, iPhone, or iPad, then add a recipe or recipe preset. When a URL matches, Safari opens your destination instead.
Recipes live in Redirect Engine. The Safari extension applies them as you browse - so matching links open the destination you chose.
Create recipes, install recipe presets, or describe a redirect in plain language. Toggle which ones are enabled.
Enabled recipes load into the extension. As pages navigate, it matches URL patterns in the background.
When a link matches, Safari opens your destination instead - capture groups, $param / $mapsQuery, absolute URLs, or specials like strip tracking.

Full app with sidebar navigation, Safari extension preferences, live extension status, Pro platform Sync, and Email links to web based email.

Quick answers about Safari redirects, Free vs Pro, privacy, and how recipes work.
Redirect Engine is a Safari extension and companion app for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. It rewrites where links go while you browse: match a URL pattern and send traffic to a destination you choose - another search engine, Apple Maps, a cleaned URL, or any site.
Yes. Use the Safari web extension and app on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. Enable Redirect Engine under Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions on each device. Step-by-step instructions: Help & Support.
Yes. Free includes unlimited recipe creation, the Safari extension, recipe presets, strip tracking, and up to 1 recipe enabled at once. Redirect Engine Pro is a one-time purchase for unlimited enabled recipes, AI Describe Recipe, platform-aware Sync, Email links to web based email on Mac, and iCloud sync.
AI Describe Recipe is a Pro feature powered by Grok that drafts a custom redirect from plain language. Type a short description, review the suggested pattern and destination, then save - no need to write patterns by hand.
Yes, with Pro on Mac. Install a web based Mail recipe preset for HEY, Gmail,
Outlook, Microsoft 365, Yahoo Mail, Fastmail, Proton Mail, or another supported provider so
mailto: links open its compose page in Safari.
With Pro, iCloud sync keeps the same recipes on Mac, iPhone, and iPad signed into the same Apple ID. Sync is handled by Apple iCloud, not by Redirect Engine servers.
Yes, with Pro. Each recipe has a Sync target: All Devices, iOS/iPadOS only, Mac only, or Off (this device). When Sync is not All Devices, Enabled is per device so you can pause redirects on one machine without turning the recipe off everywhere.
Destinations can reuse path captures ($1, $2), copy a query value with
$param(q) (or $param(q|query) for alternates), and use
$mapsQuery for Google Maps place and search links. Patterns can list alternates with
|| so one recipe covers several URL shapes.
No. Matching and redirects run entirely on your devices. We have no access to your browser or history. The optional AI Describe Recipe feature only sends the short description you enter when you request a draft. See the privacy policy for full details.
Install Redirect Engine from the App Store, enable the Safari extension, and start with a recipe preset, a custom recipe, or AI Describe Recipe with Pro.
